Level 3 Award in Aspects of Enterprise
Introduction
This is an introductory qualification aimed at individuals who have an interest in developing a practical understanding of enterprise. The qualification offers a large range of optional units in order to allow learners to pursue subjects of particular interest to them, or for learning providers to devise a programme of learning suited to a specific group of learners.
As a level 3 qualification the learning is targeted at those wishing to develop an understanding of setting up a more ‘complex’ business that may be a limited, VAT registered company with employees, a Board and premises.
Many of the skills and the knowledge developed here would be utilised in starting a business but could also be transferable to the wider world of work.

| Assessment – mandatory units | The focus of assessment should be around activities that simulate setting up, or are in preparation for, establishing a business. The evidence that is created in these activities should be collated into a portfolio that demonstrates the learner’s competence against the assessment criteria. | |
| Entry requirements | There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications. However, in order to benefit from undertaking them, candidates should possess communication skills sufficient to allow them to address the assessment requirements of the qualifications. | |

Study Support
All learners gain free studying membership of IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs) for one year. This provides access to a wide range of online support including a community of mentors, groups, forums, meetups and other tailored resources to help participants complete their programme successfully.
Progression
Successful learners may progress to other business start up or development programmes for example the SFEDI Awards qualifications in Preparing to Run Your Own Business.
Upon successful completion of this Award learners will also be eligible to join the IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs) as an Affiliate Member and use the post nominal letters AMIoEE.
