Level 1 Award in Exploring Enterprise
Introduction
The Exploring Enterprise Award is aimed at learners who may well have a very limited or no understanding of what enterprise or self employment entails. It is designed to be a short introductory course where learners can actively become involved in practical enterprise learning. On completion learners will have had the opportunity to explore enterprise in a practical hands on way.

| Assessment – mandatory units | The focus of assessment should be around activities that simulate setting up, or are in preparation for, establishing a business. The evidence that is created in these activities should be collated into a portfolio that demonstrates the learner’s competence against the assessment criteria. | |
| Entry requirements | There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications. However, in order to benefit from undertaking them, candidates should possess communication skills sufficient to allow them to address the assessment requirements of the qualifications. | |

Study Support
All learners gain free studying membership of IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs) for one year. This provides access to a wide range of online support including a community of mentors, groups, forums, meetups and other tailored resources to help participants complete their programme successfully.
Progression
Successful learners may progress to other business start up or development programmes for example the SFEDI Awards qualifications in Preparing to Run Your Own Business.
Upon successful completion of this Award learners will also be eligible to join the IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs) as an Affiliate Member and use the post nominal letters AMIoEE.
